At Health and Safety Mentor we regularly put together bespoke health and safety training packages for organisations dependant on their particular needs. Below are examples of health and safety training that has already been undertaken. The bespoke health and safety training courses are usually run over the course of a half a day to a day.

Health and Safety Training for Management & Employees

We can design courses for both management and/or employees based around the health and safety requirements for your industry.
This could include details of:

  • Hazards and associated control measures relating to your business
  • Management and employees understanding their individual responsibilities
  • Emergency & first aid arrangements including incident investigation
  • The importance of report and health and safety-related issues
  • Monitoring of working practices
  • Review of health and safety performance.

Bespoke Health and Safety Training

  • An outline of the legislation, best practice and industry standards relating to risk assessment
  • The competencies required for undertaking a risk assessment
  • An on-site practical review and tutorship of the risk assessment process.

N.B. Compiling Method Statements can be included as an add on to the risk assessment training package for those organisations within the construction industry.

  • Fire risk awareness and management;
  • The risk assessment process;
  • Emergency action planning; and
  • Hands on practical risk assessment advice and training within the working environment.

N.B. Additional modules are included within this package for companies interested in training up their fire marshals.

  • An outline of the legislation, best practice and industry standards relating to Manual Handling risk assessment;
  • Basic principles of the anatomy and physiology of the human body; and
  • An on-site practical review and tutorship of the Manual Handling assessment process.

A tool-box talked based on the HSE’s guidance for the safe and practical use of ladders which covers the following.

  • Correct and safe use of ladders and which ones to use;
  • Pre-use checks; and
  • Storage

  • An outline of The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) legislation, best practice and industry standards and how they work in conjunction with the risk assessment process.
  • Basic principles of equipment/machinery guarding, maintenance, and training in the use of; and
  • An on-site practical review and tutorship of the risk assessment process in relation to work equipment.
